1-star Michelin fine dining restaurant in Bonnieux

Enjoy an unforgettable experience
At Chef Julien Allano's Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant
As a Michelin-starred chef working for other establishments for some 16 years, Julien Allano dreamt of spreading his wings and crafting his own culinary tale.
This fine dining restaurant in Bonnieux is first and foremost a nod to Julien’s father - a chef whose friendly-faced portrait hangs in the kitchen - to both perpetuate his legacy and serve as a tribute to the large gatherings of the chef's childhood, in which family Sunday meals were moments to be treasured.
After finishing high school, Julien was quick to enrol at the hotel management college in Villefranche-de-Rouergue in the Aveyron department. Extremely attached to his roots and his hometown of Avignon, it therefore came as no surprise that he should settle on the doorstep of his birthplace: Bonnieux.

Ju – Maison de cuisine,
Provençal authenticity in Bonnieux
In the heart of the magnificent and much-visited Luberon massif, a paradise for painters and poets alike, sits one of France’s most beautiful hilltop villages, alongside equally stunning gems such as Gordes, Oppède-le-Vieux, Ménerbes and Roussillon. The charm, light, beauty and authenticity of this community of 1,200 inhabitants immediately captivated Chef Julien Allano.
And on seeing this old stone building so typical of Provence, it was love at first sight. Julien could immediately picture himself in this charming bastide and set about transforming it to his tastes.

Local craftsmanship in the spotlight
Beautiful stone arches elegantly sculpt the interior of the dining room.
To enhance the building’s exquisitely authentic feel, he chose hand-made French walnut furnishings, featuring comfortable chairs and armchairs all designed to his taste, and a wonderfully simple kitchen counter top. The unique light fixtures were also meticulously crafted from walnut and ceramic.
All of the furnishings were made in Provence. And to take things just a step further, Julien called on a ceramic artist from eastern France to create bespoke tableware that was both earthy and elegant in its design and thus in perfect keeping with his dishes.
